USAF PT Tracker

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 20, 2026

USAF PT Tracker (“the app”) is available for iPhone and Android. It helps military members log daily physical training and report it to a unit commander of their choosing. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. The short version: your data belongs to you, stays on your device (and, on iPhone, in your own Apple iCloud account), is shared only with commanders you choose, and is never sold, tracked, or used for advertising.

Information the App Handles

  • Profile information you enter: your rank, last name, and first name, used to identify you on your unit’s roster.
  • Daily PT log entries: workout type, minutes exercised, excuse codes, whether time was provided for PT, reason codes, and optional notes.
  • Fitness data (read-only): with your permission, the app reads your workouts and exercise minutes — from Apple Health on iPhone, or from Health Connect on Android (which aggregates sources like Samsung Health, Garmin, Fitbit, and Pixel Watch) — solely to pre-fill your own daily log. You can review, edit, or clear every auto-filled entry. The app never writes to Apple Health or Health Connect, and fitness data is never used for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than filling in your log.

Where Your Data Is Stored

iPhone: your PT log is stored on your device and in your personal Apple iCloud account (CloudKit). When you join a unit, your daily entries sync to that unit’s commander through Apple’s iCloud sharing. Data is shared only with units you explicitly join, and you can leave any unit — or stop reporting to it — at any time from within the app.

Android: your PT log is stored only on your device. The Android app makes no network connections at all. Your data leaves the phone in exactly one way: as a report file that you personally choose to export and send to your commander (for example by email or messaging app).

On both platforms the app has no servers of its own — no one other than you and the commanders you choose can access your entries. There are no user accounts or passwords; on iPhone, identity is handled by the Apple ID already signed in on your device.

What We Don’t Do

  • No advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking of any kind.
  • No selling, renting, or sharing of your data with any third party.
  • No collection of location, contacts, browsing, or any data beyond what is listed above.

Your Control

You can edit or clear any day’s entry, export your own log for personal records, leave any unit (your local data is kept), or delete the app to remove its data from your device. Commanders can remove members and delete units, which deletes the associated entries from their dashboard. On iPhone, data synced through iCloud can also be managed through your Apple ID settings; on Android, fitness permissions can be managed in Health Connect settings.
